Took a step outside Metro Detroit to Denver this past week! Just visiting a couple friends and had to stop at a couple local hot spots.
First up is the Denver Biscuit Company. A popup restaurant inside multiple places in the city. I ate at the Atomic Cowboy Location. This company has been featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, and many others for good reason. The Sandwiches there are huge, and big in flavor as well, with Biscuits bigger than burger buns that are extremely well made. Inside my sandwich, The Franklin: buttermilk chicken, bacon, cheese, a fried egg and sausage gravy fill the buns and was an amazing brunch experience.
Next, is non other than Voodoo donuts. A west coast staple that has made it as far east as Denver. The donuts were wild, and had great flavor as well. Featured are a couple standard donuts that were very good quality and some unique donuts that impressed. In the box are: Powdered Jelly filled, Chocolate Old Fashioned, and Chocolate Cake, Voodoo Doll with rasberry blood filling, Bacon Maple Bar, Triple Chocolate Penetraion with cocoa puffs, and lastly the Grape Ape!!
