Took a lunch trip down Ford Road to Taystees Burgers today. You wont find a better gas station in the state to fill your tank and your stomach up at. Taystees has been a staple in Dearborn, despite being inside of a BP gas station.

Taystees jumped into the spotlight a little over a year ago when they won the 2106 Burger Brawl in Detroit. The burger that won it, and what I got today is spectacular, the Ali's Notch-Yo Burger! When it comes to burgers for me, simplicity is key, not to many toppings, good cheese and beef. But Ali's Notch-Yo Burger layers the toppings on, and more importantly, they do it in perfect balance. This burger is topped with: lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, jalapenos, american, swiss, pepper jack, nacho cheese,beef bacon, nacho cheese doritos, mayo, and hot sauce all on an onion bun.

Its hard to try anything else on the menu without filling your veins with cholesterol, and your heart with pure joy. But today I played like a champion and put down a Double Knockwurst Burger as well as an order of Bacon Cheese Fries. I almost drank out of their burger brawl champ cup after I put all that down. The Knockwurst has half a knockwurst sausage, two burger patties, coleslaw, fries, beef bacon, a fried egg, grilled onions, pepper jack cheese, and spicy mayo crammed onto a brioche bun!
